Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Security Officer in Falls Church, VA. This full-time, unarmed patrol role involves safeguarding clients, patrolling facilities, and providing excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff within healthcare environments.

The position offers full-time hours with a night schedule and pay rate of $20.00 per hour. Applicants will undergo background checks and drug screening as required by law.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certification are preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation will be conducted as per laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures and emergency response activities in a healthcare setting.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as needed.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry according to site procedures.
• Document patrol observations, incidents, and security-related activities accurately and promptly.

What You'll Do:

• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and/or access concerns.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as needed.
• Monitor access points and help verify authorized entry in accordance with site-specific visitor, employee, and vendor procedures.
• Document patrol observations, incidents, and other security-related activities accurately and promptly in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
