Job summary

Allied Universal in Columbus, OH is seeking a Security Officer for full-time, unarmed patrols at a retail location. You will provide customer service, monitor for security incidents, and respond calmly to emergencies while following site policies.

The role requires a valid driver's license and a high school diploma, with preferred CPR/First Aid certifications and alarm panel experience. Night shifts run Tue through Sun 11:00 PM–7:00 AM, offering stable full-time hours and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to retail store clients, employees, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, sales floor, stock areas, entrances, exits, and surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor for suspicious activity, policy violations, and potential hazards; report observations and complete required documentation in accordance with site procedures.
• Assist with access control, visitor direction, and support for opening, closing, and high-traffic retail operations as assigned.

Job Schedule:

• Tues: 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Wed: 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Thur: 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Sat: 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Sun: 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification are preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
