Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Full Time Security Officer in Columbus, OH. You will provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and staff while following site security procedures.

Regular unarmed patrols across the retail area will be performed with documentation of incidents. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, background check, potential drug screen, and license considerations.

Qualifications

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation per federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories as permitted by applicable laws.
• Applicants may be subject to a drug screen where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required depending on state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
• Must be at least 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and store personnel while following site-specific security procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas and perimeters.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns; deter theft with a visible presence.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies in a calm, professional manner per established procedures.
• Document daily activities, patrols, and incidents and communicate to store management and leadership.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and store personnel while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, entrances, parking areas, and the business perimeter.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, policy violations, hazards, and maintenance concerns; help to deter theft and unauthorized access through a visible presence.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and emergency situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established response procedures.
• Document daily activities, patrols, and incidents accurately, and communicate relevant information to store management and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
