Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Full Time Patrol Alarm Response in Totowa, NJ. You will protect clients across industries, perform unarmed patrols, monitor access points, and respond to incidents with professional communication.

As part of Allied Universal's team, you will follow site protocols, log activity, and support a secure environment while delivering excellent customer service. This role requires compliance with background checks and possible drug screening.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of security-related experience.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check will be conducted as per laws.
• Drug screen may be required.
• Licensing requirements may be required.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a technology and data infrastructure location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and report unauthorized access attempts or policy violations.
• Complete detailed activity reports, incident documentation, and shift handoff communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
