Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer full-time in Seattle, WA, performing patrols at a public transportation location. You will deter security incidents, provide excellent service to riders and staff, and respond to emergencies with professionalism.

Qualifications include at least two years in security, CPR and handcuffing certifications preferred, and a HS diploma or equivalent. This role requires passing background checks and drug screening per law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to passengers, employees, and visitors per site procedures and emergency response requirements.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, and perimeters.
• Monitor access points, observe activity, and report suspicious behavior or hazards to appropriate personnel.
• Respond calmly to incidents and coordinate with emergency services and site representatives as needed.
• Prepare clear, accurate patrol and incident reports and maintain logs.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to passengers, employees, and visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities at public transportation locations.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, surrounding perimeters, and other assigned locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, observe activity, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, contacting emergency services and/or site representatives when appropriate.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain required activity logs for patrols, incidents, and security-related observations.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess at least two years of security-related experience.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Handcuffing certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A state, county, and/or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
