Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Security Officer for full-time, unarmed patrol coverage in New Castle, DE. You will serve patients, visitors, and staff in a healthcare setting, maintaining a visible security presence and delivering compassionate customer service.

Responsibilities include monitoring access points, responding to incidents, conducting patrols, documenting activities, and following site policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check conducted per federal, state, and local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.
• Background history considered in accordance with applicable laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff and other authorized individuals while carrying out security procedures and emergency response activities in a healthcare setting.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents and critical situations following established protocols and contacting appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry; report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation; communicate information during shift transitions.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $19.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
• Tue 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
• Wed 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
• Thur 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
• Fri 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and other authorized individuals while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities in a behavioral healthcare setting.
• Respond to incidents, behavioral health-related concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and contacting appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry in accordance with site-specific procedures; report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation, and communicate relevant information during shift transitions.

Minimum Requirements:

• Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
