Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer for a Full Time Swing Shift in Irvine, CA. You will provide welcoming customer service, conduct routine patrols, monitor access points, and deter security incidents while maintaining a visible presence.

Pay rate is $18.25 per hour. You will work daytime swing shifts Mon–Fri with a defined schedule, supporting site security procedures. Background checks and drug screening apply where required by law.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of security-related experience.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Experience with access control and badge systems preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screening will be conducted as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors while following site security procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, offices, production areas, parking areas and perimeter.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials; report unauthorized access.
• Respond to incidents and alarms calmly, following emergency procedures.
• Document patrols and incidents per site requirements.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and policies.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, offices, production areas, parking areas, and perimeter; working conditions may vary throughout the location.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and report unauthorized access concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
• Document observations, patrol activities, and security-related incidents in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
