Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or contractors while carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and credentials, manage visitor access, and maintain accurate access-related logs and records.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Communicate professionally with campus personnel and law enforcement and/or emergency responders as needed, documenting observations and incidents in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

As a Security Officer Full Time Identity Management in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an Access Control Officer, you will help maintain a welcoming, controlled campus environment by monitoring entry points, verifying access credentials, greeting visitors, and reporting security-related concerns. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while helping to deter unauthorized access. What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
