Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Security Officer Government Services Building Access Control in New York, NY. You will protect clients in government services locations, monitor access, deter incidents, and deliver professional customer service.

This full-time role requires teamwork, integrity, and vigilance, with a day-oriented schedule and $18.87 per hour pay.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of armed security, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by federal/state/local laws.
• Drug screen required, where permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required by state/local laws.
• Valid driver’s license for driving positions only.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Government Services Building Access Control in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Security Officer supporting a government services location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and families at a government services location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and notification procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, access points, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor entry and exit activity, verify authorized access in accordance with site procedures, and report suspicious activity or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain accurate daily activity reports, incident documentation, and communication logs while supporting a professional and welcoming environment.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess at least one year of armed security-related experience, law enforcement experience, or military experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
