Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Full Time security professional in Sterling, VA to perform access control and visitor management at a technology and telecommunications site. The role involves monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, and responding to incidents with professional, calm problem-solving.

Flexible evening shifts are required. Minimum requirements include being at least 18 years old for unarmed roles, a high school diploma, and passing background and drug screening as applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check as per federal, state and local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees at a technology and telecommunications location by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue and collect access badges, and maintain accurate visitor and access-related records.
• Control entry and exit of personnel, contractors, vendors, and deliveries in accordance with site procedures, escalating discrepancies or unauthorized access attempts to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, access-related concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and notifications according to site requirements.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

What You’ll Do

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
