Job summary

Allied Universal in Baltimore is seeking a full-time Security Officer Courthouse Patrol to safeguard government facilities. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, provide exceptional customer service, and uphold site-specific policies while maintaining a visible presence.

You'll work daytime and overnight shifts with a commitment to safety, integrity, and teamwork within a caring culture that puts people first. Compliance with background checks and drug screening is required.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check will be conducted as per applicable laws.
• Drug screen required as a condition of employment.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws and may be required.
• Valid driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public at government facilities, following site procedures and emergency responses as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations calmly and professionally; notify site contacts as directed.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of government buildings, grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeters to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials per site access-control procedures.
• Document patrols, incidents, and observations; communicate information to leadership and site representatives.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public at government facilities by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and public-service personnel as directed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned government buildings, grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity; verify credentials and direct individuals in accordance with site-specific access-control procedures.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and unusual activity accurately in required reports and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and designated site representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
