Job summary

Allied Universal in Greenville, SC is seeking an armed security officer for a full‑time, evening schedule at an aerospace/defense site. You will perform access control, monitor property, respond to incidents, and provide professional customer service.

Requirements include an armed guard card, 3+ years in security or military, 21+ for armed roles, HS diploma, valid driver’s license, background check, and drug screen. Competitive hourly pay and benefits offered.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular armed patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeters to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, maintain logs, and report unusual activity.
• Carry and maintain authorized duty equipment in accordance with laws and client policies.

• Mon: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Thur: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Fri: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Sat: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Sun: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and vendors while carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, access‑control policies, and emergency response activities at an aerospace and defense location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established post orders and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, maintain required logs, and report unusual activity to site leadership and appropriate responders.
• Carry and maintain authorized duty equipment in accordance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, client policies, and Allied Universal procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Have at least three years of security-related experience, law enforcement experience, military police experience, or military experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
