Job summary

Allied Universal in San Jose, CA is seeking a Security Officer for alarm response and unarmed patrol at a commercial property. You will monitor access, respond to alarms, and provide courteous service to tenants and visitors.

The schedule includes DayTime shifts with rotating evenings; pay is $22.95 per hour. A guard card, high school diploma, and background check are required or preferred; CPR/First Aid are preferred.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Background check and drug screen are required by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply by state/local laws.
• Driver's license required for driving positions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of commercial properties and report unusual conditions.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Alarm Response in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a commercial real estate location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control, and respond to alarms as needed. What' You'll Do

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, vendors, and property management personnel by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of commercial office buildings, common areas, parking facilities, loading docks, and surrounding property to identify and report unusual conditions and help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor building access points, visitor activity, and parking areas; verify credentials and direct guests, contractors, and delivery personnel according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, tenant concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities accurately.
• Prepare clear daily activity reports, incident reports, and maintenance or property-condition observations in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
