Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer - Full Time - Afternoons in Cedar Rapids, IA to protect clients across logistics and distribution sites. You will manage access points, verify credentials, and deliver reliable customer service while staying visible to deter incidents.

You will monitor entry/exit, respond calmly to incidents, and perform regular patrols, supporting a secure environment for employees, visitors, and operations. The role requires 18+ and a high school diploma.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to drivers, visitors, and personnel by following site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Verify identification, review delivery appointments and/or visitor authorization, issue appropriate access credentials, and maintain accurate access-related records.
• Monitor entry and exit points, vehicle traffic, and restricted areas to help deter unauthorized access and support orderly operations.
• Respond to access-control incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking facilities, and the perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.

As an Access Control Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry and exit points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and support a secure environment for employees, visitors, and operations. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and remain visible to help deter incidents. What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
