Job summary

Allied Universal in Santa Fe Springs, CA, is seeking a Security Officer for full-time access control at a major logistics site. You will manage entry points, verify credentials, log visitors and vehicles, and provide excellent customer service to employees and guests.

Responsibilities include patrolling the premise, responding to incidents, and ensuring compliance with site policies. The shift pattern runs Monday through Sunday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with a pay rate of $19.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• At least two years of security-related experience required.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screening per regulations.

• Monitor access points, verify credentials and documentation, and control entry/exit of authorized people and vehicles.
• Maintain logs for visitors, contractors, and vehicles; issue/collect access credentials per procedures.
• Respond calmly to incidents and security concerns; report observations to supervision.
• Conduct regular patrols of entrances, loading areas, parking, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and/or delivery personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and delivery documentation, and control the entry and exit of authorized employees, visitors, vendors, and vehicles.
• Maintain accurate visitor, contractor, and vehicle logs; issue and collect access credentials in accordance with site-specific procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; communicate observations to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least two years of security-related experience is required.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification are preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
