Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is hiring a Security Officer at a logistics and distribution site in San Pedro, CA. You will manage site entry, verify credentials, monitor access points, and provide exceptional customer service to employees and visitors.

This full-time role offers a $20.00 per hour pay rate with a night shift schedule. Candidates should have at least 1 year of security experience and be able to pass background and drug screenings

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, background check will be conducted in accordance with laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Monitor access points for employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel; verify credentials and follow site visitor-management procedures.
• Control entry and exit of vehicles and personnel at gates, docks, and other designated access areas; maintain accurate logs and reports as required.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership when needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, perimeter, parking areas, and loading areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
