Job summary

Allied Universal in Wilmington, NC is seeking a Security Officer Access Control to safeguard clients in manufacturing and industrial locations. You will monitor areas, conduct patrols, manage access control and badge activities, and maintain a visible presence to deter security-related incidents while delivering exceptional customer service.

The position is full-time with a pay rate of $19.75 per hour. Eligibility includes 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security

Qualifications

• 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security experience or a college degree.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen required; licensing may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, and critical situations calmly.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of production areas, warehouses, offices, parking areas and perimeter.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity; verify credentials and maintain logs/reports.
• Communicate observations and incidents to site contacts and emergency responders.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a manufacturing and industrial location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of production areas, warehouses, offices, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or hazards.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as required by site procedures, and maintain accurate security-related logs and reports.
• Communicate observations and incidents to site contacts, Allied Universal leadership, and emergency responders as appropriate.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
