Responsibilities

• Maintains daily records and logs related to security operations.
• Operates in coordination with local police during investigations.

Summary:

The Security Officer position provides protection to all persons and safeguards the property and facilities of the North Penn School District within the assigned building

Essential Functions

• Provides protection to all persons and safeguards the property and facilities of the North Penn School District within the assigned building
• Provides service to any student, staff member, or visitor in need of assistance or information
• Provides immediate service to students, staff, or visitors when serious disturbances occur
• Enforces rules and regulations regarding vehicular movement on campus when applicable
• Assists in the enforcement of all school regulations and policies
• Investigates misdemeanors that are discovered or reported on the premises
• Recommends to the appropriate administrators the need to summon local municipal police
• Assists in municipal police investigations
• Maintains daily records and logs appropriate to the security police function
• Follows the responsibilities and duties listed in the North Penn School District guidelines for security staff
• Perform other security of safety tasks as assigned or directed

Education And/or Certification Required

• High School Diploma
• Police training preferred
• Valid PA drivers license

Experience Needed

• Previous police, security, and child supervision / experienced preferred

Requisite Skills

• Demonstrates sound judgement, decision making, and leadership ability
• Has knowledge of the procedures of local police departments
