Job summary

SEARHC in Juneau, Alaska is seeking a dedicated security officer to patrol campus and surrounding areas, ensuring a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.

The role includes providing routine security services, controlling access, escorting personnel, responding to emergencies, and participating in drills, with required certifications and a valid Alaska driver’s license. This is a full-time, exempt position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Six months of security-related experience.
• Knowledge of security policies and procedures.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus and assigned areas to monitor for conditions or situations which pose a risk to the safety of people or property.
• Provide routine security services, including access control, escorts, and monitoring systems.
• Assist with patient restraint and intervene in disruptions by patients.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in drills.
• Enforce visitor policies and conduct investigations as needed.

Shift Details

FSC Hours: 8am - 8pm, 7 days a week

Key Essential Functions and Accountabilities of the Job

• Patrols campus and assigned areas to monitor for conditions or situations which pose a risk to the safety of people or property.
• Provides routine comprehensive security services, including:
• Assistance with patient restraint;
• Intervention in disruptions by patients;
• Traffic control;
• Guarding and patrolling physical property;
• Escorting visitors and employees;
• Monitoring systems;
• Orienting and monitoring of personnel working in high-risk areas;
• Investigation of incidents;
• Access control;
• Enforcement of visitor policies;
• Respond to emergencies;
• Respirator fit testing;
• Hazard surveillance surveys;
• Participation in emergency drills; and
• Public assistance requests.

• Other duties as assigned
