Job summary

Allied Universal in Washington, DC is seeking a Security Officer Branch Flex Patrol to protect client sites across industries. You will work 30–40 hours weekly with varying shifts and a self-scheduling program, gaining hands-on experience and opportunities for growth.

This role requires flexibility, reliability, and the ability to travel as needed; you must be at least 18 years old (21 for armed roles), have a high school diploma, and pass background checks and a drug screen.

Qualifications

• Availability to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Reliable transportation.
• Able to travel required distances.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation required by law.
• Drug screening required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply by state/local law.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or unauthorized presence.
• Warn violators of rule infractions (loitering, smoking, etc.).
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances/exits.
• Observe leaving personnel to prevent theft of company property; ensure proper removal of property.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain logs as required.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors politely and professionally.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary per site Post Orders.
