Job summary

Allied Universal in Washington DC is seeking a Security Officer Flex Rotating Shift Coverage to join a dynamic team. You will perform patrols, monitor access, and respond to incidents across diverse client sites, gaining valuable experience and building a long-term security career.

The role requires 2+ years of security experience, ability to work varied shifts including nights, holidays, and weekends, and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Two+ years of security-related experience.
• Willing to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Reliable transportation.
• Available for last-minute shift scheduling.
• Willing to travel varying distances.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation required by law.
• Drug screen required by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required before employment.
• Valid driver’s license for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized removal of property is conducted per client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
