Job summary

Allied Universal in Chicago is seeking a Security Officer – Flex – Unarmed to monitor and safeguard clients at a commercial real estate location. This role offers a flexible part-time schedule with day-time shift options and a pay rate of $19.25 per hour.

Qualifications

• Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Respond to incidents and communicate clearly with site leadership; complete detailed reports.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients and tenants by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a commercial real estate location.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, common areas, loading areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify maintenance or access concerns.
• Control access by verifying identification and/or credentials, processing visitor and vendor entry, issuing badges and/or passes, and directing individuals to the appropriate areas per site procedures.
• Monitor alarms, cameras, and access control systems as assigned, document irregular conditions, and notify site contacts and/or emergency services when needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, provide clear communication to site leadership, and complete detailed reports and logs.
