Job summary

Allied Universal in Elgin, IL is seeking a part-time Security Officer – FLEX to provide security and customer service at a financial services location. This role offers fixed anchor shifts with the option to claim additional shifts to increase earnings.

You will participate in a six-month anchor shift commitment and may earn more through our scheduling platform, with a potential path toward a full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation conducted in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• A drug screen may be required prior to employment.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state/local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including emergency response at a financial services location.
• Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and communicate observations to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the building, lobby areas, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity per site protocols, verify credentials when required, and report irregularities.
• Document daily activities, incidents, and maintenance concerns through required reports and relay information during shift changes.

As a Security Officer - FLEX in Elgin, IL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $25.25 / Hour

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
