Job summary

Allied Universal in Washington, DC is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Reception Assurance to join our campus safety team. The role provides reliable hours at a fixed site, with opportunities to pick up extra shifts and increase earnings while maintaining balance.

You will monitor front desk access, greet visitors, verify credentials, and respond to incidents with professional calm. Shifts include Sat 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM with a pay rate of $20.00/hour.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and policies at a higher education location.
• Monitor access at the front desk, greet and direct visitors, verify identification or credentials as required, and maintain visitor logs and/or related documentation.
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established response procedures.
• Maintain awareness of activity in the lobby and adjacent entry areas, report unusual activity or facility concerns, and help to deter unauthorized access.
• Communicate professionally with campus personnel, visitors, and Allied Universal leadership while providing information and assistance as appropriate.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Reception Assurance in Washington, DC, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $20.00 / Hour

Job Schedule: Sat 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
