Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer for a Flex Part Time position at a gated community in San Clemente, CA. This role offers reliable, scheduled hours with opportunities to pick up additional shifts and earn more through our scheduling platform.

You will provide access control, monitor entry points, and respond calmly to incidents, while delivering professional customer service to residents and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, vendors, and property staff by following access-control procedures and site policies.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor and contractor authorization, maintain visitor records, and direct authorized individuals to appropriate areas.
• Control vehicle and pedestrian entry and exit in accordance with established procedures, reporting unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner, documenting observations and actions.
• Conduct regular patrols of access points, common areas, parking areas, and the property perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.

As a Security Officer Flex Part Time Gated Community in San Clemente, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $20.00 / Hour

Job Schedule: DayTimeSat06:30 AM - 02:30 PMSun06:30 AM - 02:30 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

• Monitor access points, verify visitor and contractor authorization, maintain visitor records, and direct authorized individuals to appropriate areas of the residential property.
• Control vehicle and pedestrian entry and exit in accordance with established procedures, reporting unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, documenting observations and actions taken.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, common areas, parking areas, and the property perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
