Allied Universal, a leading security and facility services provider, seeks a Flex Part Time Security Officer in Baltimore, MD. The role offers fixed shifts with opportunities to pick up extra hours to earn more, and a base pay rate of $18.00 per hour.

You will work Sundays 08:00 AM to 04:40 PM, with a six-month anchor shift at a designated site. Responsibilities include managing access control, responding to incidents, patrolling vessel areas, and ensuring guest and crew safety.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background investigation will be conducted as part of employment.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply depending on state/local laws.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to guests, crew members, and visitors by following security procedures.
• Monitor access points and restricted areas according to site policies.

• Conduct regular patrols of vessel and terminal areas, including public spaces and crew areas.

As a Security Officer Flex Part Time Checkpoint in Baltimore, MD, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.00 / Hour

Job Schedule: Sun 08:00 AM - 04:40 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to guests, crew members, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, embarkation and debarkation areas, and restricted locations in accordance with cruise operations procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, communicating observations to appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout assigned vessel and terminal areas, including public spaces, crew areas, and perimeter locations as applicable.
• Document incidents, observations, and security-related activities accurately and in accordance with site‑specific reporting requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• X‑ray screening experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
