As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Operations in Arlington, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $22.40 / Hour

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public at a government location by carrying out site‑specific procedures, access protocols, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions, unauthorized activity, and maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures; verify credentials and direct individuals to appropriate locations when required.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and public agencies according to established procedures.
• Prepare clear and accurate activity, incident, and patrol reports, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 2 years of security‑related experience.
• Possess a valid Virginia DCJS license.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Have experience using handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or a baton, preferred.
• Hold current CPR and First Aid certification, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
