Job summary

Allied Universal in Arlington, VA is seeking a part-time Security Officer Enhanced to provide dependable hours at a designated site with opportunities to pick up extra shifts. The role includes incident response, patrols, and visitor management at a corporate technology location.

Pay rate is $21.75 per hour with a fixed anchor shift and the option to earn more through the claim-a-shift program, supporting a pathway toward a fuller schedule while maintaining flexibility.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.

• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities at a corporate technology location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of office areas, common spaces, entrances, parking areas, and the building perimeter to identify and report unusual conditions or security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, assisting with credential verification and directing guests to appropriate locations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, communicating observations to site contacts and emergency responders.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain activity logs related to patrols, incidents, visitor interactions, and other security‑related duties.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Checkpoint Verification in Arlington, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $21.75 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeFri11:00 PM - 07:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.


• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
