Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Newport Beach, CA. This flexible role offers fixed anchor shifts and the option to pick up additional shifts to increase earnings, with a base hourly rate and opportunities to scale to full‑time hours.

Responsibilities include customer service to tenants, shoppers, and staff; regular unarmed patrols of retail areas and perimeters; incident response; monitoring access points; and accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 for unarmed roles (21+ for armed roles).
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check and drug screen as condition of employment.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

As a Security Officer Flex Gated Commuity Patrol Driver in Newport Beach, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $21.50 / Hour

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, visitors, and staff by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout retail common areas, parking areas, building exteriors, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders as needed.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location, reporting unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, and policy violations according to site procedures.
• Document patrols, incidents, and daily activities accurately in required reports and logs.

Minimum Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
