Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer - FLEX in Hoffman Estates, IL to protect client sites across healthcare, education, finance, retail, and more. The role offers 30–40 hours per week with varied shifts and the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift program.

You will perform patrols, monitor for security concerns, and respond to incidents. A background check and drug screen are required, with licensing applicable to state/local laws. Prior security or military experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by federal, state and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• A drug screen is required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Perform patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle
• Monitor for irregular conditions that may cause security concerns
• Sound alarms or contact police/fire department when needed
• Warn violators of rules such as loitering or carrying forbidden items
• Verify authorized entry and monitor entrances/exits
• Observe departures to prevent theft and ensure proper removal of property
• Investigate incidents and prepare written reports
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors courteously
• Make emergency alerts per Post Orders
