Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer - FLEX in Elk Grove Village, IL. You will support clients across healthcare, education, finance, retail, and more, offering hands-on experience and growth within a leading security organization.

You will work 30–40 hours per week with a variable schedule and Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift scheduling. The role requires last‑minute shift availability, and adherence to site Post Orders and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Availability to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• Available for last-minute shift scheduling.
• Must be able to travel to assigned work locations.
• Ages 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
• Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or unauthorized persons
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders
