Qualifications

• At least 2 years of security-related experience.
• CPR certification preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen as required by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus guests while carrying out security-related procedures and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly per campus protocols and notify appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, residence halls, and perimeter areas.
• Monitor access points and report unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to campus contacts.
• Support a welcoming learning environment by providing directions, assisting with routine inquiries, and documenting incidents.

As a Security Officer Flex College Campus Patrol in New York, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $20.30 - $21.30 / Hour

Job Schedule: Sat 03:00 PM - 08:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established campus protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, residence halls, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and report unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to the appropriate campus contacts.
• Support a welcoming learning environment by providing directions, assisting with routine inquiries, and documenting incidents in accordance with site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification are preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
