Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer – FLEX in Waterloo, IA. This part-time role offers flexible, dependable hours at an assigned site with opportunities to pick up extra shifts via the scheduling platform.

Pay rate is $19.25 per hour. The role includes fixed anchor shifts for six months and the ability to earn more through additional shifts, along with essential security procedures and patrol duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Background investigation and drug screen may be required.
• Must be at least 19 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures at a manufacturing/industrial site.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and report per site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, production areas, parking areas, access points, and perimeter.
• Monitor access by observing personnel, visitors, contractors, and vehicles and report suspicious activity.
• Document patrols, incidents, and daily activities in reports and relay information during shift transitions.

As a Security Officer - FLEX in Waterloo, IA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a manufacturing and industrial location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established site protocols and reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, production areas, parking areas, access points, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to the location by observing personnel, visitors, contractors, and vehicles, and report suspicious activity or policy concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Document patrols, incidents, and daily activities in clear, accurate reports and communicate relevant information during shift transitions.

Minimum Requirements:

• Preferred ability to lift more than 20 lbs.
• Be at least 19 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
