• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and shipping documentation, report unauthorized access or unusual activity.
• Respond to incidents calmly and escalate according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of loading areas, distribution operations, parking areas, and the facility perimeter.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time X Ray Screener in Reading, PA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.99 / Hour

Requirements

• Security Experience (C115):
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant security experience is required.
  • Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of security protocols and procedures.
• Customer Service Experience (B219):
  • Proven experience in customer service roles is essential.
  • Candidates must exhibit strong communication skills and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
• X-Ray Screening Experience (B218):
  • Experience with x-ray screening processes is preferred.
  • Candidates should be familiar with safety regulations and operational procedures related to x-ray technology.

Job Schedule

• Sun: 04:00 AM - 08:30 AM

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, drivers, visitors, and employees while carrying out site‑specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Screen personnel, visitors, packages, and deliveries in accordance with established access‑control and security‑related procedures.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and shipping documentation, and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of loading areas, distribution operations, parking areas, and the facility perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.

Minimum Requirements

• Must have at least 1 year of security‑related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• X‑ray screening experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
