Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Screening Specialist in Norfolk, VA. This part-time role involves serving guests and safeguarding clients across cruise operations, with a focus on welcoming environments and professional conduct.

Pay rate is $19.00 per hour, with daytime shifts on weekends. The position requires a TSA TWIC and at least 1 year of security experience, plus a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Possess a TSA-issued TWIC.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation.
• A drug screen may be required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to passengers, crew members, visitors, and clients while carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Screen passengers, crew members, visitors, baggage, and personal items in accordance with cruise terminal and port procedures.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, boarding documentation, and authorized entry for restricted areas.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns per site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of screening areas, terminal spaces, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Possess a TSA-issued TWIC.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
