Job summary

Allied Universal in Bristol, VA is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer Patrol Inspection to safeguard government transportation locations. You will perform unarmed patrols, monitor access, and maintain a visible security presence while providing professional customer service to staff and visitors.

The role is part-time with a pay rate of $14.00 per hour. You will follow site procedures, complete logs, and participate in a team-oriented, people-first culture at Allied Universal.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check conducted per federal, state and local laws.
• Criminal histories considered in accordance with laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required by state/local laws.
• Valid driver’s license for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors and the public at a government transportation site by following site procedures and security policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, parking areas, roadways, grounds and perimeter to identify hazards and report incidents.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, direct individuals to appropriate locations and report concerns to site contacts and supervision.
• Respond to incidents, alarms and critical situations calmly, following emergency procedures and contacting the right personnel.
• Complete detailed logs, incident reports and patrol documentation and share observations with site management.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and members of the public at a government transportation location by carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, parking areas, roadways, grounds, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions, hazards, and unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with established procedures, directing individuals to appropriate locations and reporting access concerns to site contacts and/or Allied Universal supervision.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, traffic-related concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following emergency response procedures and contacting appropriate personnel as needed.
• Complete detailed activity logs, incident reports, and patrol documentation, communicating observations and relevant information to site management and/or Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
