Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer for a mall location in Christiansburg, VA. You will provide customer service to shoppers, tenants, and employees while maintaining a visible security presence and following site policies.

You will conduct patrols, respond to incidents, and report safety concerns. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and a background check will be conducted as part of employment. Schedule includes Fri and Sat shifts. Pay rate is $17.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Comfort with computer or tablet use preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds preferred.
• Minimum age 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check required by law.

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a retail mall location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support a welcoming environment for visitors and tenants, and respond to security-related concerns. Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Fri: 02:15 PM - 10:30 PM
• Sat: 10:00 AM - 10:30 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to shoppers, tenants, visitors, and/or employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout the mall, common areas, parking areas, exterior perimeter, and tenant spaces as assigned.
• Monitor access points, observe activity throughout the location, and report suspicious activity, hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Assist with directing visitors, providing information, and supporting a welcoming retail environment while helping to deter unauthorized activity.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortably using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
