Job summary

Allied Universal in Wytheville, VA is seeking a Part Time Security Officer with Alarm Response duties. You will monitor assigned areas, respond to alarms, and maintain safety while delivering professional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.

The role offers part-time evening and weekend shifts, on-site work, and opportunities to advance within Allied Universal through its training and shift-claim platform.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security license is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, patients, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established hospital and facility protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, provide directions and assistance, and report unusual conditions or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Complete accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

• Sat 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Sun 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
