Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and emergency response as needed.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations calmly and professionally.
• Conduct regular unarmed foot and/or vehicle patrols in retail areas, parking, exteriors, and tenant corridors.
• Monitor access points, observe activity, and report suspicious conditions or maintenance concerns.
• Prepare accurate incident reports and communicate with leadership, property representatives, and local law enforcement when needed.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Retail Patrol in Escondido, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Tue: 10:00 AM - 02:00 PM
• Wed: 10:00 AM - 02:00 PM
• Thur: 04:30 PM - 10:30 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security‑related procedures, location‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout retail common areas, parking areas, exterior perimeters, and tenant corridors to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, observe activity throughout the location, and report suspicious conditions, maintenance concerns, and policy violations according to site procedures.
• Prepare accurate incident reports, maintain required activity logs, and communicate professionally with Allied Universal leadership, property representatives, and local law enforcement when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least one year of security‑related experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
