Job summary

Allied Universal in Van Nuys, CA seeks a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrolling to provide reliable, customer‑focused security services at our bank client sites. This role offers fixed anchor shifts with the flexibility to pick up additional shifts via the scheduling platform.

You’ll contribute to a safe environment, perform unarmed patrols, monitor access, and respond to incidents following established procedures. Prior security experience and a HS diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• Licensing requirements may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or customers at a financial institution by carrying out security-related procedures and policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly following established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of banking areas, offices, entrances, parking areas, and surroundings.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials, and report unusual conditions.
• Document incidents, patrol activities, and observations accurately in site procedures.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrolling in Van Nuys, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $20.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sat: 08:45 AM - 05:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or customers at a financial institution by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of banking areas, offices, entrances, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as required, and report unusual conditions or policy concerns.
• Document incidents, patrol activities, and daily observations accurately in accordance with site procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• At least one year of security‑related experience is required.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
