Job summary

Allied Universal®, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Specialist in West Hollywood, CA. This role features fixed shifts with overtime opportunities via the scheduling platform, and a path toward full-time advancement.

Pay rate is $21.86 per hour. The position requires a six-month anchor shift commitment, a Friday 5:30 PM – 4:00 AM schedule, and eligibility to pick up additional shifts to boost earnings

Qualifications

• 3+ years of security-related, military, or law enforcement experience or an associate’s degree in criminal justice.
• High school diploma or equivalent. Licenses/requirements may apply per state law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, residents, employees and the public while following site procedures and policies.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of public areas, facilities, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity.
• Respond to incidents calmly and follow emergency procedures.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, hazards, or policy violations.
• Document patrols and incidents in required reports and logs.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, residents, employees, and/or members of the public while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related policies.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of public areas, facilities, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the assigned location, reporting suspicious behavior, hazards, maintenance concerns, and/or policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and communications accurately in required reports and logs.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess 3+ years of security-related, military, or law enforcement experience or an associate’s degree in criminal justice.
• Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and baton is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
