Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer – Enhanced Part Time for Walnut Creek, CA. This role offers flexible scheduling with a fixed shift on Sundays from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM at a designated site under an Anchor Shifts program.

You will support tenants, visitors, and staff, perform patrols, monitor access, and respond to incidents using site-specific procedures. This position provides opportunities to progress toward full-time roles while earning competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures and location-specific policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the shopping center, including common areas, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, property concerns, and policy violations to site contacts and leadership.
• Respond to incidents calmly following site protocols.
• Assist with access control, visitor directions, and traffic flow while maintaining a professional presence.

Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Perimeter Patrol in Walnut Creek, CA

Pay Rate: $22.90 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Sun 07:30 AM - 04:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed‑Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out security‑related procedures, location‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the shopping center, including common areas, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, property concerns, and/or policy violations to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established site protocols.
• Assist with access control, visitor directions, and traffic flow while maintaining a professional, customer‑focused presence.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security‑related experience is required.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
