Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Front Desk Enhanced for a part-time role in Charlottesville, VA. The position offers flexible, anchor shifts with opportunities to pick up extra shifts through our Earn More program.

You will manage front desk security procedures, visitor screening, and access control, while delivering reliable customer service in a technology-focused site. Pay rate is $22.00 per hour with a schedule that includes DayTime Fri 06:00 PM - 04:00 AM.

Qualifications

• CPR certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old (21+ for armed roles).
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Background check will be conducted to comply with laws.
• Drug screen is required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be needed prior to employment.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors at a technology-focused location.

As a Security Officer Front Desk Enhanced Part Time in Charlottesville, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $22.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeFri06:00 PM - 04:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors at a technology‑focused location by carrying out site‑specific procedures and security‑related policies.
• Monitor front desk access, greet and screen visitors, verify credentials, issue visitor passes, and direct guests in accordance with site requirements.
• Maintain accurate visitor, contractor, and delivery records, and communicate arrivals or access concerns to appropriate site contacts.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
• Observe activity at the front desk and surrounding entry areas, report suspicious or unusual activity, and help to deter unauthorized access.

Minimum Requirements:

• CPR certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
