Allied Universal in Charlottesville, VA is hiring a Security Officer Enhanced (Part Time) to provide reliable security services at a utilities site. The role offers flexible fixed shifts with the option to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform and growth toward a full schedule up to 40 hours per week.

You will perform patrols, monitor access, respond to incidents, and maintain logs while upholding site policies and emergency procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license required (as per policy).
• Background check and drug screen required by law.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and reporting as required.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeters.
• Monitor access, verify visitor/contractor authorization, and maintain logs and reports.
• Communicate hazards and security concerns to site contacts and leadership.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Driver in Charlottesville, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.54 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Fri 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utilities location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, access points, equipment areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access to the location, verify visitor and contractor authorization as directed, and maintain accurate activity logs and incident reports.
• Communicate observed hazards, maintenance concerns, and security-related issues to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
