Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Birmingham, AL. This role provides reliable, fixed shifts with opportunities to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform, designed for flexible, part‑time income.

You will deliver patient‑facing security, respond to emergencies, patrol facilities, monitor access, and document incidents in accordance with site procedures. A high school diploma and ability to pass background and drug screening are required.

Qualifications

• Be willing to receive required hospital vaccinations.
• Be comfortable working in a hospital morgue.
• Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
• Be able to restrain individuals in a hospital setting.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner while following facility protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of healthcare buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor directions, traffic flow, and reporting of unusual activity in accordance with site procedures.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities accurately and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and facility personnel.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Morgue Security Support in Birmingham, AL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $16.75 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Fri 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
