Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Mobile Driver to join our Santa Cruz, CA team. The role offers flexible fixed shifts with additional on-demand shifts to increase earnings, and a pay rate of $22.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of public areas, buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity.

• Document incidents and patrol activities accurately and communicate information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Mobile Driver in SANTA CRUZ, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (Anchor Shifts): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, public concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of public areas, buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, assisting with directions and access‑related questions as appropriate.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities accurately, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess at least 1 year of security‑related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and batons is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
