Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer for Part Time Patrol Coverage in Santa Cruz, CA. You will provide frontline security, customer service, and a reassuring presence for patients, visitors, and staff at a healthcare location.

Qualifications

• Guard Card or license preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Conduct regular patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity; assist with directing individuals and reporting unauthorized access or suspicious activity.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports regarding incidents, patrols, observations, and security-related activities.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare setting.
• Respond to incidents, behavioral health-related concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities as required.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures; assist with directing individuals and reporting unauthorized access or suspicious activity.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports regarding incidents, patrols, observations, and security-related activities in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.
