Allied Universal in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Lobby. This role provides reliable, scheduled hours at a designated site with opportunities to pick up extra shifts through the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift program.

Pay rate is $16.69 per hour, with a Monday shift 07:30 AM – 05:00 PM. You will support front desk operations, greet tenants and visitors, verify credentials, and respond to incidents while maintaining a professional security posture.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigations conducted in compliance with laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and staff at a front desk post in a commercial real estate location.
• Monitor access at the front desk by greeting arrivals, verifying credentials, signing in visitors, and reporting unusual activity.
• Respond to incidents and inquiries calmly while coordinating with building management and emergency personnel as needed.
• Support front desk operations by maintaining logs, receiving deliveries, and deter unauthorized access through post procedures.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Lobby in Norfolk, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $16.69 / Hour

Job Schedule: Mon 07:30 AM - 05:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and staff by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate for a front desk post in a commercial real estate location.
• Monitor access at the front desk by greeting arrivals, verifying credentials, managing visitor sign‑in processes, and reporting unusual activity in accordance with site‑specific protocols.
• Respond to incidents, inquiries, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner while communicating with building management, employees, and/or emergency personnel as needed.
• Support daily front desk operations by answering questions, maintaining accurate logs and records, receiving deliveries as directed, and helping to deter unauthorized access through consistent application of post procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
