Allied Universal in SAN JOSE, CA is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Licensed Unarmed Patrol. This flexible role provides reliable hours at an assigned site and opportunities to earn more by picking up additional shifts through our scheduling platform.

You will perform access control, patrols, and incident response; maintain a welcoming security presence for visitors and staff; abide by site procedures and license requirements; earn $21.00 per hour with a six-month anchor shift

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation.
• A drug screen may be required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, volunteers, and vendors per site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout designated areas and exterior perimeter.
• Assist with visitor flow, wayfinding, and adherence to site policies while maintaining a welcoming presence.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and concerns calmly and document observations per site procedures.
• Monitor entrances and exits, check credentials as required, and deter unauthorized entry.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Licensed Unarmed Patrol in SAN JOSE, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $21.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sun 08:00 AM - 03:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to museum visitors, staff, volunteers, and vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control practices, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout galleries, public areas, offices, entrances, loading areas, and the exterior perimeter to help identify unusual activity, hazards, or facility concerns.
• Assist with visitor flow, wayfinding, and adherence to museum policies, while maintaining a professional and welcoming presence in cultural institution settings.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document observations according to site procedures.
• Monitor entrances and exits, check credentials or authorized access as required, and help to deter unauthorized entry, theft, vandalism, and disruptive behavior.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
