Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Enhanced Part Time Patrol Observation in San Jose, CA. This flexible, reliable role offers fixed anchor shifts and the opportunity to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform.

Pay rate is $22.00 per hour with a potential to scale hours up to 40 per week. Ideal for building experience toward a full-time security career at a leading national provider.

Qualifications

• At least six months of security-related experience.
• A state, county, or city-issued security license is preferred.
• Comfortably use a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation and drug screen as required.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to museum visitors, staff, volunteers, and/or vendors while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of galleries, public areas, entrances, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify concerns.
• Monitor access points, observe visitor activity, and protect artwork and museum property according to procedures.
• Respond to incidents, visitor concerns, alarms, and emergencies in a calm, professional manner.
• Prepare clear reports of incidents and patrol activities and communicate to site leadership.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Observation in SAN JOSE, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $22.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Wed: 12:30 PM - 07:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to museum visitors, staff, volunteers, and/or vendors while carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures and policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of galleries, public areas, entrances, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points, observe visitor activity, and support the protection of artwork, exhibits, and museum property in accordance with established procedures.
• Respond to incidents, visitor concerns, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Prepare clear and accurate reports of incidents, observations, and patrol activities, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least six months of security‑related experience.
• A state, county, or city‑issued security license is preferred.
• Comfortably use a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
